About Rory

Rory Bialostosky is a longtime resident of West Linn’s Willamette neighborhood. First elected to the City Council in 2020 at age 21, Rory has served on the City Council in various capacities over the last two years.

He is currently serving as Interim Mayor. Last year, he served as Council President. Rory is the youngest Mayor in West Linn’s history and one of Oregon’s youngest elected officials. He believes strongly in the power of collaboration and working together to better our community.

Rory attended West Linn schools throughout his childhood, beginning at Willamette Primary School, continuing his education at Athey Creek Middle School, and graduating from West Linn High School in 2018. While in high school, Rory served as the public address announcer for the West Linn High School Athletic Department. After a brief stint in Washington, D.C. where he interned at the National District Attorneys Association, Rory returned home and began working at a small law firm in downtown Portland. He graduated from Lewis & Clark College summa cum laude BA in International Affairs in 2022. In the future, Rory intends to go to law school.

Rory first became involved in West Linn politics while a student at West Linn High School. At that time, he successfully advocated for better transportation and parking options for students. He then continued to advocate on other city issues and ran for office to improve the functionality of the Council. Outside of working to make West Linn a better place, Rory enjoys golfing, traveling, reading about the legal profession, paying attention to the news, walking his golden doodle, and spending time with friends and family. Overall, Rory wants to continue to work to make West Linn a thriving and livable community for all as our region continues its growth.
